Fraunhofer IVV in Dresden
As the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV, we are leaders in applied research for the secure supply of high-quality foodstuffs and for sustainable packaging systems. We have around 350 scientists working with us on groundbreaking products, processes and technologies at our sites in Freising and Dresden.
At Fraunhofer IVV in Dresden, we are developing efficient processing and cleaning processes. We use modern data analysis methods to identify weaknesses and potential in existing processes and create innovative approaches for Industrie 4.0.
Product safety and process efficiency are the most important aspects when it comes to our processing plant developments. We are responding to mounting challenges with hybrid technology concepts and new solutions provided by digitalization.
Dresden is one of the most important locations for science in Germany. Since 1995, we have been part of the Fraunhofer community in Saxony’s capital city, which boasts a large number of Fraunhofer institutes, facilities and institute branches. This wealth of research institutions all in one place and the close links to the Technical University (TU) of Dresden result in a high level of expertise and numerous spin-offs that both industry and science benefit from in equal measure. As a member of DRESDEN-concept, an alliance of 33 research institutions and renowned cultural institutions active in research fields, we are also ideally positioned to develop networks across specialist boundaries at the Dresden site.
