Campus of the Senses

Campus of the Senses – from holistic human sensory perception to cross-linked artificial sensory systems

Digitization is moving into more and more areas of our everyday lives, opening up new possibilities for science as well: from the development of intelligent sensors and algorithms to expanded human-machine interfaces and multi-sensor stimulator systems. The challenge lies in the automated recording and interpretation of human sensory perceptions and their transformation into the virtual world.

“Campus of the Senses” is a joint initiative of Prof. Dr. Andrea Buettner, deputy director of Fraunhofer IVV, head of the department Sensory Analytics and professor for Aroma Research at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen Nürnberg (FAU) and Dr.-Ing. Albert Heuberger, director of Fraunhofer IIS, and deals with just these topics. The goal is to research the digitization of all human sensory experiences and their conversion to digital form. We make it possible for you and your company to learn about the results of the research, to take part in the most current developments, and to use new technologies and services.

We are pleased to invite you to the opening event for “Campus of the Senses” in Erlangen to change our sensory perception together.
