Practical digitalization solutions for needs-based, secure processes in the packaging and food industry

We will be presenting practical digitization solutions that help companies in the packaging and food industry to establish digitized value processes and take their first steps into the circular economy at the interpack trade fair from May 4–10, 2023 at booth C54 in hall 4.

 

Training up machine operators from any location with virtual reality and digital twins

Experience an example of our VR based training for efficient, sustainable training and further education of operating and technical personnel on our model line for thermoformed packaging. Since the training system can be run on VR terminals as a stand-alone application, the machine does not have to be available for the qualification measure. Learners can thus gain experience and make mistakes without having to stop real production or risk damage. The self-directed training enables the learning of action steps such as those required for format changeovers and the fastest possible development of a profound understanding of the process.

Ensuring product safety with intelligent cleaning technologies

How can digital solutions counteract the quality risks associated with manual cleaning processes and the increasing challenge posed by the shortage of skilled workers?

With the AR-based "CleanAssist" and two variants of the "Mobile Cleaning Device", we present forward-looking technology applications for quality-assuring, efficient and resilient production processes. For the first time, the use of intelligent sensor technology and digital twins enables complete, fully automated documentation of the cleaning process and thus genuine validation of the cleaning process.

Quality assurance with digital assistance: CleanAssist is the first virtual cleaning assistant for manual cleaning. Using innovative integrated tracking sensors and intelligent data processing, the cleaning lance records, analyzes and documents the cleaning performance and any spray shadows. Using data glasses, the CleanAssist superimposes a digital twin on the operator's real cleaning environment, displays the real cleaning progress in quasi-real time, and thus provides the necessary support for quality cleaning.

Cleaning 4.0 — fully automated and flexible: The highly integrated contamination sensor technology of the "Mobile Cleaning Device" (MCD) automatically detects the prevailing degree of contamination and enables the cleaning process to be documented. Cleaning is carried out by means of an innovative target jet cleaning (AJC) system rotating around three axes. We present the robot in two application-specific variants: As an autonomously moving device for automated cleaning of production environments and in an inline version ("Inline-MCD") for automated cleaning of process plants and lines.

First steps into the circular economy — natural fiber-based packaging solutions and material substitutes

We support companies in their entry into the circular economy through the targeted development of fiber-based packaging solutions and technologies to reliably control the processing behavior of paper and alternative materials in high-speed machines.

Our exhibits will give you an insight into the achievable shape diversity of thermoformed fiber-based packaging, demonstrate the possibilities of combining molded parts with functional, quality-assuring and, in some cases, organic barriers, and the synergy of embossing with 3D molded parts for designing consumer packaging.

We will also present advanced forming, joining, measuring and monitoring technologies for processing alternative materials and recyclates. Under the guiding principles of efficiency, safety and feasibility, we offer holistic support for your material conversion projects..
